Bethlehem 03:36
BETHLEHEM Scott Riggan, Benjamin Bauman and Randy Thomas © 2003 Pleasantview Music (ASCAP) and I Love Lori Music (ASCAP) from the CD "Bethlehem" BETHLEHEM Their feet had walked the sand and stone Until they reached the place Where at the humble stable door They strained to see His face Now could this be the Chosen One This child in Mary’s arms Who would have known -- who would have dared To believe the King had come And when He came Truth took a name Emmanuel Back in Bethlehem, where grace began When Messiah took the form of man Take me there, take me there Take me where The road to Calvary began It all began in Bethlehem How far my feet have taken me From that silent, holy night But the core of all that I believe Is in that moment of time When the one and only Son of God Became the Son of Man And here within our space and time Unveiled the great I Am The Mighty King The Prince of Peace – Revealed as One Cradle of the truth that I believe Take me back where all roads lead . . .

ANTHEM FOR CHRISTMAS words and music by Michael W. Smith and Gloria Gaither © 1989 Gaither Music Co. (ASCAP) and O’Ryan Music Inc. (ASCAP) from the CD "Bethlehem" In the space of the beginning Was the living Word of Light When this Word was clearly spoken All that came to be was right All creation had a language Words to say what must be said All day long the heavens whispered Signing words in scarlet red Still some failed to understand it So God spoke His final Word On a silent night in Judah’s hills A baby’s cry was heard “Glory” sang the angel chorus “Glory” echoed back the night Love has come to walk among us Christ the Lord is born this night All creation sing His praises Earth and heaven praise His name All who live come join the chorus Find the words His love proclaim

REMEMBER BETHLEHEM Featuring "Remember", words and music by Scott Riggan and Peter Vaque © 2003 Pleasantview Music (ASCAP) and Springtree Media Group, LLC (ASCAP) from the CD "Bethlehem" It all began in Bethlehem, it all began in Bethlehem The road to Calvary began in Bethlehem And we remember that You took our place As You hung in disgrace On that old rugged cross For our sin drove the nails in Your hands But forgiveness was part of Your plan For a world that was lost We break the bread, we taste the wine And every time, we remember

about

ABOUT "BETHLEHEM"
As Scott Riggan recorded his Christmas EP "Bethlehem," he summed up his approach this this: "What's the point of doing a familiar song if it sounds just like everyone else's version?"

Riggan wrote "Bethlehem" with Randy Thomas ("Butterfly Kisses") and Ben Bauman, a song rich with vivid imagery and a slightly middle-eastern melodic touch. It is most definitely not a typical Christmas tune.

Of his choice to include "Anthem For Christmas," Scott explains, "It was on Michael W. Smith's first Christmas record. I gave it a few tweaks to make it more of a pop anthem." The album closes with "Remember Bethlehem", which connects the dots from the manger to the cross.

Three singles from the project - "Joy To The World," "Bethlehem" and "Anthem For Christmas" - became instant radio classics and continue to receive constant airplay during the Christmas season.
